This policy explains what information FoodHome collects when you shop at ship.FoodHome.com, how we use it, and the choices you have. FoodHome ships groceries from our warehouse at 1491 W 14 Mile Rd, Madison Heights, Michigan 48071.
What we collect
- Order details: your name, shipping and billing address, email address, phone number, the products you buy and your order history.
- Account details: if you create an account, your login name, email address and a securely stored (hashed) password. You can also check out as a guest without an account.
- Payment details: card payments are processed by Authorize.net, and PayPal payments by PayPal. Your full card number goes directly to the payment processor; we do not store it. We keep a record of the payment method type and the transaction ID.
- Messages: anything you send us by email, phone or the contact options on the site.
- Technical information: your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit, recorded in standard server logs and used for security and troubleshooting.
How we use it
- To process, ship and deliver your orders, and to send order confirmations and tracking updates.
- To take payments and handle refunds and returns.
- To answer your questions and provide customer service.
- To keep the site secure and prevent fraud and spam.
- To keep the records required for tax and accounting.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
Who we share it with
We share only what each service needs to do its job:
- Payment processors (Authorize.net and PayPal), to take and refund payments.
- Shipping services (ShipStation, UPS, FedEx and USPS), to quote shipping rates, print labels and deliver your order. They receive your name, shipping address, phone number and package details.
- hCaptcha, which checks that forms such as login and registration are filled in by a person and not a bot. It may collect technical information about your device and browser.
- Google Fonts, which delivers the typefaces used on the site; your browser connects to Google’s servers to load them.
- Our hosting provider, which stores the site and its data.
- Authorities, when the law requires it.
Cookies
The site uses cookies that are needed for it to work: to keep items in your cart, keep you logged in, and protect forms from spam. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. If you block cookies in your browser, the cart and checkout may not work.
How long we keep it
We keep order records for as long as we need them for tax, accounting and warranty purposes, which is generally at least seven years. Account information is kept until you ask us to close your account. Server logs are kept for a limited time for security.
Your choices and rights
- You can view and update your account details and order history under My account.
- You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. We may need to keep some order records where the law requires us to.

Security
The site uses an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, and card details are handled by our payment processors rather than stored on our servers. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
Children
This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the new version on this page with a new “Last updated” date.
